TechFest 2019

On Monday 8th July over 200 students and parents took part in our annual awards ceremony called Techfest.  In previous years we have run this event as an Oscars themed night celebrating work from films to art.  Fortunately due to the expanding use of technology at Wildern and in our local primary schools such as St James, Wellstead and Freegrounds Juniors we were delighted to be able to celebrate such a wider range of talents this year.  Students first got to enjoy the festival feel with candy floss, face painting and a range of exciting new techs to try like Virtual Reality.  After this, at the formal awards we recognised work in areas from website design, online tools like Google forms and gaming as well as the original categories like best movie. We also welcomed our visiting colleagues and students from the Silves Sul schools partnership in the Algarve and their contributions for the best international movie.

Well done to the 140 students nominated for an award, we look forward to next years event!
