Letter from Mrs Oakley 22nd Feb 2021

Dear Parent/Carer,

As expected today, the Prime Minister has announced that all schools will reopen from 8 March for all students. We are very pleased with this news, as it means we can return to face to face teaching on-site once more. We will use the next few days to put in place a plan to reopen our school and will update you on Friday this week. Please be reassured that our plans will be in line with all government guidance and will prioritise the health and safety of the whole school community. As part of this, we will review all of our current risk assessments and cleaning protocols to ensure that the school is as safe as we can possibly make it.

It is clear that mass testing will be part of the reopening process. I would like to thank all parents / carers who have completed the online consent form already. To confirm: we will only facilitate tests with your child if you have given your permission. If you have not yet given this, can I encourage you to do so. You can do this by following this link. if you have already completed this form, you do not need to do it again. Thank you.

I would like to advise all parents of Year 11 students that the consultation for replacement of GCSE exams has now closed. We are waiting to receive feedback on this from the DFE, which we hope will be this week. Once we know more we will again be in touch.

Until Friday, take care

Ceri Oakley
