Last week we took four Y8 students to the first round of the National Young Mathematicians' Awards at Explore Learning Whiteley. It's a group competition designed to stretch high-ability maths students and get them working outside their comfort zones. They were selected from about fifteen students who were put forward by teachers and they have trained for the event over the last month. They put in a great account of themselves today and we will find out whether or not they qualified for round 2 at the end of next week.
