Site Manager required for Boorley Park Primary School
37 hours a week worked over a split shift, 52 weeks per year. Grade D â€“ Step 1 Actual Annual Salary Â£21,403 plus 24 days holiday.
Boorley Park Primary is a brand new school that opened in September 2019 with Reception Year and has grown steadily since.
We are delighted to be offering such an exciting opportunity for a highly committed, enthusiastic and energetic person to manage this new school site, ensuring operational effectiveness whilst carrying out day to day maintenance tasks and overseeing site security and cleaning.
The role is varied and will involve responsibility for Health & Safety systems, building maintenance overseeing the site security, cleaning, record keeping, moving and handling of objects and deliveries, working at height and grounds maintenance. Previous site experience is essential and a background of working in schools would be desirable for this role.
Basic literacy and numeracy and IT/computer skills are essential for this role. Job specific training will be provided if required.
The post is for 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday and will usually operate a split shift. Exact hours are negotiable but will begin approximately two hours before the start of the school day until mid-morning and from mid-afternoon until early evening. An example of hours can be found on the job description. Flexibility will be required by mutual agreement to take account of the changing needs of the school.
We are looking for a site manager who will:
â€¢ Ensure the security of the school buildings and site, liaising with staff, contractors and the Wildern Academy Trust Estates Manager as appropriate.
â€¢ Oversee and engage with the cleaning and maintenance of the site.
â€¢ Undertake minor repairs, maintenance and decorating.
â€¢ Oversee and be point of contact for the cleaners and other contractors on site as appropriate.
â€¢ Undertake checks and maintain records to meet statutory health and safety requirements e.g. COSHH, legionella, risk assessments, fire alarms etc.
â€¢ Liaise with the Headteacher about lettings and wider use of the site, working flexibly to meet the needs of the children and the school.
â€¢ Have a key holder responsibility and be prepared to attend out of hours emergency call outs.
â€¢ Be a keen team player but with the ability to work independently, flexible, and resilient with good communication skills.
â€¢ Help us to maintain our outdoor spaces for the children.
