Complaints

The complaints procedure established by the Academy Trust follows DfE guidance and covers the school curriculum and related matters. The policy encourages parents in the first instance to approach the form tutor or class teacher in the school. You may then follow up this informal stage by contacting the DoPA or a senior member of staff. If you are still concerned you can write or contact the Headteacher. If necessary, if you remain concerned and unsatisfied you may wish to make a formal complaint to the Directors which you do by writing to the Clerk of Directors. Formal procedures exist to ensure your complaint is heard fairly.

If you are not satisfied by the response of the Directors you can then complain to the Educational Funding Agency (EFA) which will consider the complaint on behalf of the Secretary of State. For matters other than the curriculum (e.g. discipline, admission procedure) there are specific arrangements for appeals after informal approaches have been made to the Headteacher.

We welcome contact from parents at an early stage of any uncertainty or difficulty so that escalation of concern, worry or dissatisfaction can be avoided.
