Rights Respecting School

We are very proud of achieving this UNICEF Gold Award accreditation as we believe that the United Nations Convention on the rights of the Child (UNCRC) is at the heart of everything we do.

Through our curriculum and extra-curricular programmes, our students learn and participate in discussions and topics that look at the many facets of the rights of the child from tutor time Digging Deeper sessions, the Wow of the week to the impressive selection of charity work that take place throughout each year.

Student voice is highly valued at Wildern and plays a crucial role in driving improvement across the school. It also provides students with opportunities to grow as leaders, decision makers of the future in order that they are empowered to enter the wider world as active global citizens.

There are many examples where students and staff work in partnership together, to make decisions for improvement or to support each other in order that the school community continues to flourish; Summit meetings, Student Observers of Learning (SoLs), Student evaluators, student focus groups and our CHUMs (Caring, Helpful, Understanding Mentors).
