From 26th February to the 10th March 2018 the d.@rt Centre will be running the WordPlay festival, a month of literary events and activities connecting communities in and around Hedge End by playing with words.
As part of the WordPlay Festival the d.@rt is planning to work with local poets and poetry connoisseurs to organise a 'poetry jam' - an evening at the d.@rt where poets can share their work and those who love poetry can listen, encourage and connect with like-minded people.
If you are a poet or love poetry, we would love you to be involved.
If you would like to get involved and share your ideas to help shape the poetry jam evening, come along to a meeting with coffee and cake, in the d.@rt at 7pm on Thursday November 16th 2017. This meeting will coincide with an open mic taking place in the d.@rt, so poets are welcome to also take part and share a poem or two after the meeting if you wish. Please RSVP for this meeting by return email by Friday November 10th (so we can ensure there is enough cake to go around!)
Alternatively, simply attend the poetry jam itself on the night of Tuesday March 6th 2018. We will send out a call for poets for this event in the New Year, but please keep the date free.
If you think you know a performance poet who might be a good feature artist for the evening, or know others who may be interested in taking part, please let us know.
Yours in poetic delight,
The d.@rt Team
