In March, five Year 9 students visited Portugal in the second leg of our Wildern Broadcasting Oscars exchange.
The exchange allows students from Portugal to visit and experience life in an English school and this time it was our turn to spend a few days living as Portuguese students. Non uniform and longer days meant it was a quite a change for our students however they also got to spend time with their host families; at the beach, visiting castles and shopping.
Alongside all of this there was an opportunity to attend their Oscars event where two of our previous exchange students, Connie Smith and Megan Roberts in Year 10, won awards for their video promoting the trip to Portugal last year. The event was attended by students, their families and some important educational speakers in Portugal so it was a very prestiged evening where the students got to dress formally.
The whole group, including the teachers, loved the hospitality of the Portuguese and were sad to leave their hosts behind!
Thank you to Mrs Millington and the students for a fantastic trip!
