Second in Department (Assistant Director of Learning) - English (TLR 2b - £4,529)
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative practitioner who will have shared responsibility as second in English to start in September 2018. You must have Qualified Teacher Status in the UK, or an equivalent overseas qualification with UK teaching experience. This post is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious teacher looking to progress their career.
Having been designated as one of the first 100 Teaching Schools in July 2011 we have a proven history of outreach with other schools, both at a Primary and Secondary level. We are also a school with significant strength in the CPD of staff, developing our teachers for the next stage of their careers. Graded as ‘OUTSTANDING’ by Ofsted in November 2012 for the third consecutive inspection, we are committed to being a centre of innovation, creativity and enjoyment for both students and staff.
English results for 2018 were 77% Grades 4 to 9 (in the new grading system), with 65% of all students securing Grades 4 to 9 in English and Mathematics last year. The department has 14 dedicated teaching rooms, a highly committed and dedicated team of staff including a Core Progress Assistant (English TA).
