Second in Department (Assistant Director of Learning) - Science (TLR 2b - £4,529)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative practitioner who will have shared responsibility as second in Science. You must have Qualified Teacher Status in the UK, or an equivalent overseas qualification with UK teaching experience. This post is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious teacher looking to progress their career.

Having been designated as one of the first 100 Teaching Schools in July 2011 we have a proven history of outreach with other schools, both at a Primary and Secondary level. We are also a school with significant strength in the CPD of staff, developing our teachers for the next stage of their careers. Graded as ‘OUTSTANDING’ by Ofsted in November 2012 for the third consecutive inspection, we are committed to being a centre of innovation, creativity and enjoyment for both students and staff. We are currently involved in the planning and developing of two new schools within the Wildern catchment, a secondary and primary school. Science results for 2018 (in the new grading system) were 73% at Grades 4 to 9 for Combined Science, 98% at Grades 4 to 9 for Biology, 99% at Grades 4 to 9 for Chemistry and 98% at Grades 4 to 9 for Physics. 65% of all students secured Grades 4 to 9 in English and Mathematics last year.
