Well, we are finally at the end of a long term where much has happened. This is a short message from me wishing you all a wonderful Christmas with your families and friends. The students and staff have worked very hard and thoroughly deserve a break, as I am sure do all of you.
On Thursday Year 11 will, as part of the mock exam results day, receive their practice exam results. They will be reminded that this is exactly that, a practice for the real thing. Most of the year group have worked very hard and while there will be some disappointments if they listen to the feedback and advice, and focus on their return, they will do very well.
I would like to thank all of you who contributed to our Basics Banks food collection, it never ceases to amaze me how generous our children and families are. We delivered over 17,000 items to the Basic Banks collection which we know will offer a huge support to many of those less fortunate than us at Christmas. Linked to this we raised over £1,000 for the Christmas jumper appeal which supports the NSPCC.
As I stood on duty this lunchtime, with Mrs Oakley, we were surrounded by very excited youngsters engaged in chat and play, it was lovely to see. Certainly the absence of mobile phones has really helped develop a culture of laughter and talk, thank you all for your support with this.
We look forward to the New Year with a calendar full of events, which includes another performance at the Albert Hall (more to follow next term).
Have a wonderful fun filled Christmas.
